Iran says oil production on Kharg Island remains fully operational and uninterrupted.
Iran is telling the oil markets “we are still standing”.
Kharg Island handles approximately 90% of Iran’s oil exports. If Israel or the US had successfully struck it, oil prices — already at $100 — would have spiked to levels not seen in modern history. Iran announcing it is untouched is as much a financial statement as a military one.
What this means: Iran is sending three messages simultaneously. To the markets, don’t panic further. To its own population, we are not defeated. And to Washington, your strikes have not broken us.
This circles back directly to what US intelligence told Reuters today, Iran’s leadership is intact and not at risk of collapse. Now Iran is confirming its most critical economic infrastructure is intact too.
Trump said “totally defeated.” Iran just said “not even close”.
